Information on the current health of former WWE star Lex Luger including information on a recent appearance!
As most fans know Lex Luger has had a rough time over the last few years with his heath taking a major turn for the worse in 2008 when he was paralyzed in both arms and both legs after suffering a spinal stroke on Friday, October 19 when he was in San Francisco for a wrestling convention. Since then he has recovered considerably and can now get around some days without the use of crutches or cane. He still has issues with his hands which has made dialing a phone or gripping things difficult. He plans to have another carpal tunnel surgery soon, hoping that it will improve his hands.
He and I visit the same chiropractor, Dr. Craig Aaron, who was telling me how much Lex had improved. Dr Aaron also treats Raven, Diamond Dallas Page, and numerous other wrestlers, and I am sure is helping Lex as he has helped me.
I hope to have a conversation with Lex soon to discuss his fight back from the stroke and other areas of interest.
Until then I found this post by John Chapiewski describing a recent Columbus, GA appearance by Lex.
“I just got back from a church by the name of Victory Assembly of God down here in Columbus, GA. Lex Luger was the guest speaker and gave a truly impassioned speech about his life ( He referred to it as the “Old Lex” vs. the “New Lex”). He looked very brittle on the stage but he said this was the first time he could walk without the aid of a cane in months. He talked about his football career, wrestling career, the time he spent in prison, his stroke and paralysis, the death of Elizabeth, the demise of his marriage and his salvation through Jesus Christ. Lots of tears in the crowd. He posed for pictures afterward but he couldn’t sign autographs because he still doesn’t have total control of his motor skills. He now volunteers his time with paralysis patients and does public speaking appearances at churches. I just wanted to let you know that because he seems very sincere with his “second chance” at life.”
