The popular 4v1 asymmetrical horror game Dead by Daylight scored its first licensing deal a few years ago when Michael Myers from Halloween entered the game's Fog. He remains one of the game's most popular characters, standing out with his ability to instantly down survivors after he reaches Tier 3 Evil Within.

Known in Dead by Daylight as The Shape, Michael Myers can be an absolutely deadly killer when played by someone who knows how to effectively utilize his power. Let's go over all of the best builds and perks for The Shape in Dead by Daylight so you can make the most of your time playing him.

The Shape Power And Perks

Before we delve into the best builds for The Shape, let's look at this killer's power and teachable perks so you know what you're working with. First, here are The Shape's three teachable perks:

Perk: Save The Best For Last

  • You become obsessed with one Survivor. Earn a token for each successful hit that is not dealt to the obsession. Each token grants cooldown reduction on successful attacks.

Perk: Play With Your Food

  • You become obsessed with one Survivor. Every time you chase your Obsession and let them escape, you receive a token. Each token increases your movement speed.

Perk: Dying Light

  • You become obsessed with one Survivor. Each time you hook a Survivor that is not the obsession, gain a Token. For each token, all other Survivors are affected with a repair, healing and sabotage speed penalty.

Power: Evil Within

The Shape's power is called 'Evil Within." The in-game description reads as follows:

  • "The darkness inside feeds his determination to take the life of his prey.
  • Activating Evil Within allows The Shape to see his prey clearly and build up more evil power by stalking them.
  • Evil Within I makes The Shape Undetectable and slower, he has no red stain and a tremendously reduced terror radius.
  • Evil Within II makes The Shape faster and increases his terror radius and vaulting speed.
  • Evil Within III further expands his terror radius, increases his lunge range and vaulting speed and temporarily inflicts all Survivors with the Exposed status effect."

Best Michael Myers Builds In Dead By Daylight

The Shape's power focuses on stalking survivors to gain Evil, leveling up your Evil Within until you become more powerful and ultimately are able to instantly down survivors.

Because his power is so unique and his early-game potential differs greatly from other killers, playing Michael Myers effectively requires using some pretty unconventional strategies. You can test out multiple builds to determine which one feels most comfortable to you.

Beginner Shape Build

If you are just getting started as a new Michael Myers main, it might be hard to decide what aspects of gameplay you want your build to focus on. Michael Myers has a weak early game but finds his footing when he gains up more Evil. This build focuses on patching up his weak spots, empowering him to do well in chase even early in the game.

  • Jolt
  • Fearmonger
  • Play With Your Food (The Shape)
  • Save The Best For Last (The Shape)

All of the perks included in this build are general perks, meaning they either come by default with The Shape or can be found in the Bloodweb of all killers without prestiging or reaching level 50.

Save the Best for Last and Play with Your Food help you make up for your lack of speed in the early game, while Fearmonger prevents survivors from rapidly gaining distance on you. Jolt earns you some generator regression every time you get a down, adding to your slowdown.

Chase Shape Build

If our beginner Shape build doesn't catch your eye, might we suggest another loadout that focuses on chase. Though he is a slow killer, chasing survivors as Michael Myers can be fun - especially once you've earned up that Tier 3 Evil Within and you know it will just take one hit to down them.

  • Discordance (The Legion)
  • Play With Your Food (The Shape)
  • Bamboozle (The Clown)
  • Deadlock (The Cenobite)

Discordance helps you find survivors, while Play With Your Food and Bamboozle empower you to do well in chase once you've pinned down their location. Deadlock helps with slowdown, making sure that generators don't pop too quickly.

Well-Rounded Shape Build

The Shape struggles in many areas but excels in one: downing and killing survivors once he has his hands on them. This build focuses on patching up his early-game weaknesses but also applying pressure through every step of the match.

  • Corrupt Intervention (The Plague)
  • Deadlock (The Cenobite)
  • Tinkerer (The Hillbilly)
  • Hex: No One Escapes Death

Corrupt Intervention sets you up for success at the beginning of the game, while Deadlock and Tinkerer provide you support through tracking throughout the game. Hex: No One Escapes Death ensures that, at the end of the match, you still have a chance to bring things back if you weren't able to secure very many kills.

What Are The Best Perks For Michael Myers?

We've given you some builds to test out on Michael Myers, but you might be wondering what the best perks are on him.

A few of the best perks on The Shape are:

  • Scourge Hook: Pain Resonance (The Nemesis)
  • Call of Brine (The Onryo)
  • Lethal Pursuer (The Nemesis)
  • Eruption (The Nemesis)
  • No Way Out (The Trickster)
  • Corrupt Intervention (The Plague)
  • Bamboozle (The Clown)
  • No One Escapes Death

We recommend mixing and matching the perks in the builds we've provided to create your favorite loadout. As you familiarize yourself with this killer, you'll determine which perks are your favorites and be able to mix and match these perks effectively.
