An 18-foot aluminum-built Starcraft boat overturned near the Ford Yacht Club in Grosse Ile Township at around 7:45 AM on Saturday, September 23, 2023. It was found “drifting off-shore with damage to the bow portion of the vessel” according to the police.

After this, a search was launched to find the operator or passenger of the boat. At around 5:40 PM on the same day, a 23-year-old man’s lifeless body was recovered from water in Wayne County. He was identified as Hunter Polgar, a resident of Grosse Ile, Michigan.
