Deranged ex, Anthony Green, 56, waited outside the Truett's Chick-fil-A on Shorter Avenue in Rome, early Wednesday morning as 39-year-old Cassie Davis was getting breakfast at the drive-thru before opening fire.

Davis was shot three times with a revolver and died. Her devastated family said she had revealed just a day before that Green 'wouldn't leave her alone.'

On Tuesday at about 8:21pm - less than 48 hours before the 'murder-suicide' was seen posting a cryptic message to Facebook saying: 'Have you ever just been so tired?'

Sixteen people responded to his last post with some responding to the recent news of the horrific tragedy: 'There's always somebody you could have reached out to brother... Prayers for everybody who's involved in this sad and unreal situation,' one person wrote.

Green often posted photos of guns that he'd collected with friends on social media, but the revolver he used in the attack did not appear on his Facebook.

Rome Detective Tony Yarbrough told DailyMail.com that the crime 'was a domestic situation.'

Yarbrough said that he is still speaking with family members who are mourning the loss of the 39-year-old they said didn't 'have a bad bone in her body.'

It remains unclear if Green had a criminal record. Social media posts show photos of his love for Trump, a photo supporting breast cancer with a friend, a picture of alcoholic beverages and of him working out at the gym.

Kathie Walters, Davis' devastated mom told Fox 5 Atlanta that Green had been 'following her around' despite no longer being together.

Rome Police have called the shooting an apparent murder-suicide.

They said that after Davis was shot her vehicle, that was in the pick-up lane of the drive-thru, rolled down an embankment, according to The Independent

Green and Davis, both residents of Rome, are believed to have been in a domestic relationship in the past but it remains unclear how the relationship ended.

Davis' family described Green as a jealous person who couldn't let Davis go, but they admitted that they never thought he would kill her.

They said she was 'loving, caring and would give the shirt off her back to anybody,' 11 Alive News reported.

Walter said: 'It seems like a dream...I just want to wake up.'

Walters said her daughter, whose children range in age from 5 to 18 years-old, was 'a good mother of seven.'

Effie Wilson, Davis' distraught aunt believes her nieces killing was senseless.

'Nobody thinks anymore, they're killing children, they're killing adults,' she said.

She added, 'There were more women out there, there was no use in taking her away.'

Chick-fil-A restaurant General Manager Greg Major, horrified by the morning tragedy issued a statement.

'We are currently cooperating with the police who are investigating. No other guests or team members were hurt but we mourn with the community,' Major said.

'We have closed the restaurant for the day to repair and care for team members. Thank you for your patience during this time; we plan to reopen tomorrow.'

Police also confirmed that Chick-fil-A had nothing to do with the incident.

The restaurant where the deadly shooting took place was the same location once visited by Chick-fil-A chairman Dan Cathy, Law & Crime reported.
