Upon graduation, Adelstein pursued an acting career, beginning in the theatre while working for New Crime Productions which was founded by John Cusack, and with the Steppenwolf Theatre Company in Chicago. After years of experience in stage acting, Paul made his film debut in ’’The Grifters“ (1990) and went on to appear in several TV series such as ’’Cupid“, ’’Without a Trace“, ’’ER“ and ’’Scrubs“, which brought him notable popularity and made him a familiar television face. He also had several important supporting roles in movies such as ’’Bedazzled“(2000), ’’Intolerable Cruelty“(2003), ’’Memoirs of a Geisha“(2005) and ’’Be Cool“(2005). However, his most notable role came in 2005, when he was cast in the popular TV series ’’Prison Break“, portraying the character of agent Paul Kellerman. He left the show two years later, and joined the cast of the medical drama ’’Private Practice“, in which he starred until the end of the show’s sixth season, considerably boosting his net worth.
