The Saturday Night Live 40th Anniversary special was packed with celebs, but one noteworthy face was missing — Tracy Morgan. The longtime comedian was a recurring cast member for eight seasons on SNL before going on to star on 30 Rock with Tina Fey and Alec Baldwin.
The two costars took the stage at the anniversary celebration on Sunday, Feb. 15 to honor Morgan, 46, who was in a serious car accident in June that left him in critical condition.
“I wish my friend Tracy Morgan was here tonight, and I know that he was hoping he would be well enough to be here too,” Fey, 44, said. “If he were here tonight, I’m sure Tracy would remind us that more than anything, he’d like to get us all pregnant.”
“See you at the 41st, Tracy!” Baldwin, 56, said.

“We love you!” Fey added.
The popular NBC sketch show then showed an old clip of Morgan on the show during the Brian Fellow’s Safari Planet skit.
The comedian’s condition has greatly improved since June when he suffered from a broken leg, broken femur, broken nose, and broken ribs in the six-vehicle crash. He was spotted walking around New York with a cane in late January, and has been working with a physical therapist.
